Quick Poll: Would you support the City contracting for trash service for residential customers of Littleton if a better price through economies of scale could be achieved and street wear and tear would be minimized?

The City Council of Littleton has directed staff to investigate contracting residential trash service in the city.  Haulers would be selected through a competitive bid process.

Currently the city only regulates the hours in which trash collection can occur. Anyone is free to select the trash/recycling hauler of their choosing (or the decision is made at their HOA level). This can result in numerous trash haulers serving the same neighborhood or block, causing undesirable congestion, noise and damage to residential streets.
