Please describe in detail any safety concerns you have, including locations when possible.
Both from Driving a car to get on Mineral from Peninsula Drive and crossing Mineral on a bike or walking, I feel like the pedestrian light is not a good solution for the long haul. We have a lot of Pedestrian, vehicle (car, bikes) at the crossing because of the Writer Vista Park and parking area for hiking the canal. Heritage high school running teams use the highline canal and have to cross Mineral. When the pedestrian light is active, people are not allowed to turn right onto Mineral from Peninsula Drive. When the light changes for the Mineral traffic to go, the people entering Mineral from Peninsula (to turn right onto Mineral), have to wait for all the traffic to clear that has accumulated from the pedestrian light being activated, it is really a problem at heavy traffic times. The best solution for all concerned would be an underpass for the canal, just like the underpass at County Line Road.
Which improvements to the transportation system would entice you to walk or bike to transit or your destination more often instead of driving? (Select all that apply)
Buffer or vertical separation between bike lane and vehicles
Safer crossings at intersections
Other - See my comments above
Please share any questions or other general comments regarding the Mineral Mobility Improvements.
I live in the Peninsula, have lived here for 26 years and the intersection at Peninsula and Mineral needs some thought as I have stated above.
