Which of the following are reasons you would choose to travel by vehicle instead of walking or biking to transit or your destination? (Select all that apply)
To save time
Weather
No convenient transit route to my destination
What elements of the transportation system make you feel unsafe when you're walking or biking in the project area? (Select all that apply)
No separation between bike lanes and vehicles
Narrow sidewalks
Other - I enter Mineral at Long and head east. I always ride on the sidewalk to the canal, rather than the asphalt bike lane. I guess due to closeness to cars.
Please describe in detail any safety concerns you have, including locations when possible.
The number one issue I see is the canal traffic crossing Mineral. Especially with the morning sun shine issue. The best improvement would be a tunnel crossing.
When riding, I feel bad stopping four lanes of traffic for 60 seconds just so I can cross. So I typically jaywalk (ride) to get across.
As a motorist, being part of the four lanes of traffic being stopped for 60 seconds, every couple of minutes, is very annoying.
Which improvements to the transportation system would entice you to walk or bike to transit or your destination more often instead of driving? (Select all that apply)
Wider sidewalks
Buffer or vertical separation between bike lane and vehicles
Safer crossings at intersections
Other - The biggest thing is just the unpleasantness of riding next to noisy, fast cars. So cutting the speed limit to 10 mph would help.
